           After Earth

This poster is a teaser poster for the film ‘After Earth’.  The poster does feature the two actors’ names, Jaden and Will Smith at the bottom of the poster. The colours in the poster are quite dark which suggests that there is a problem in the movie.  However, it doesn’t really show the exact release date due to the fact it is a teaser poster.

The poster shows the main character (played by Jaden Smith) standing on a broken plane watching the earth in front of him so it is easy to tell it will be an action film and there will definitely be obstacles that the characters need to overcome. 

The title is written in a way so that it also catches the audiences’ eyes and the R’s seem to be almost fading away and it suggests the Earth is fading away. There are two famous stars in the film so this means that they are also using the stars to advertise the film in the teaser poster. The poster does follow the thirds rule as the tagline is at the top of the poster, the main picture is in the middle and at the bottom is the actors’ names, title of the movie and the release date. There is a lot of green on the poster to show that it is about Earth but the colours are dark to symbolise that it is not a happy film and there are going to be issues. The target audience for this film is teenagers and adults.

It is quite easy to see that the genre of the film will be action due to the picture on the poster as it’s easy to see that the characters are going to face problems that they are going to have to deal with and they have to do something to save Earth. 

The certificate of the film is not featured on the poster due to it being a teaser poster so it will not feature much information.  It is aimed at people who enjoy action movies. There is no official website or any credits featured on the poster due it to being a teaser poster. The USP in this teaser poster is the image and it seems quite different to other action films as in other action films it’s just the heroes against the villains but they are fighting to survive. Also, the actors could contribute to the USP of the film as they are both Hollywood stars.
